Talk to me is a 2022 horror film directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, with a screenplay written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman. The film stars Sophie Wilde as Australian teenager Mia, who is struggling with the loss of her mother from an overdose. Mia and her friend Jade attend a house party where the teenagers are conjuring the dead using an embalmed hand. One night, when Mia and Jade bring Jade’s younger brother Riley to a party, a ghost comes forward claiming to be Mia’s deceased mother. Riley ends up injured after trying to connect with spirits using the dead person’s hand.
After the incident with Riley, Mia steals the hand. She begins seeing what she thinks is her deceased mother, as well as other spirits that try to contact her. She discovers that Riley is in purgatory and does what she can to save him. The film has a lot of gross-out horror moments, and the ending will leave you wondering what part of the story you actually saw.
Wilde gives a standout performance as Mia, as you can’t help but feel worried and annoyed for her all at the same time.
