When I was in middle school, one of my teachers helped me get into SDSU’s young writers’ program because she knew what I wanted to be. I was submitted for the Louisa May Alcott award later that year. In high school, I started attending the SDSU writers’ conferences. I was 16 at the time.

In my 20s, I ended up moving to Montana, where I participated in Authors of the Flathead on and off for many years while working and trying to get my English degree. I eventually was diagnosed with a disability, my memory index and possible PTSD from abuse sustained as a child.

I have published a series of webnovels underneath my real name, Cambria Covell, and C. McGrath. The Endless Series Royals and Rebels, Immortals University, and The Alpha Witch on Dreame, Radish, and various other webnovel platforms.

I also wrote All the Right Notes for Totally Bound Publishing under the penname C. McGrath.

In my thirties, I wanted to rebrand and felt that it was too easy for me to be found and also too hard for my real name to be remembered. So, while I do have stuff out there, they were things I wrote in my 20s trying to make a buck as a writer and I don’t really advertise them anymore. Especially because they’re all webnovels, but if you come across them, they’re out there.

With my penname, I’m trying to publish novels that feel more like me and less like someone writing tropes for a writing website.

I was able to get funding from my local vocational rehab office because of my disability and in 2023, started attending Southern New Hampshire University Online where I will complete a degree in English with a concentration in screenwriting. It’s my hope that eventually, I will be able to write diverse stories for people and make films the same way.
