In which I cleaned my room today

I live in the top floor of an apartment building. It gets hot in the Summer. Right now, I have three little fans going and even with that, I am still sweating most of the time.

Ages ago, my Mom got me a portable air conditioning unit for my apartment. Every year, we have to take a day and set it up.

So today, after spending half the day sleeping because I finished my scripts and my stuff for school and wasn’t working, I got up and cleaned my room. I listened to some MGMT as I cleaned and I made my place presentable so that when my Mom came, I wouldn’t have to hear her comments about my apartment being a mess.

She will probably still say something anyway, but I can actually see the floor, and I know where stuff is, so I consider that a win. Usually, I wait until the day of and have to clean everything up in a rush and she’s frustrated and I’m frustrated and it is a long day for both of us.

This time however, I am ahead of the game, and I credit that to being on my meds. Being on my meds makes me think clearer. It helps me keep track of things that are important that I normally don’t see as important.

If I hadn’t been taking my meds, I wouldn’t have taken the time to clean and would have spiraled about doing it. But I am keeping on track of things.

With love,
Diana Crescent
