Getting into gaming in your 30s

I was never into video games. At least, I thought that was the case. But looking it over I realized I classified the games I was. I might not have been a videogame person, but I was a computer game person. The original 90s Disney PC games? Loved them.

Sabrina the teenage witch PC game series? Obsessed.

The Nancy Drew computer games? Yeah, I still love those.

But despite this, I never considered myself a “gamer”. I think because it is so closely associated with guys. But recently, I got into the game Love and Deepspace.

It’s a dating sim, but I got pulled in by the art and stayed for the storytelling and the lore. I’ve done a few lives because of it. Admittedly, I only ever have like five people, but I’ve still done them.

I’ve also started playing other games more. And I realize I do consider myself a gamer. I have always been. It just didn’t seem like I was supposed to. But getting into Love and Deepspace made me realize it’s a hobby I have always had.

And I don’t mind putting myself in that category because I’ve actually made some cool friends because of it.
