I’ve always known the importance of local elections although I will admit, I haven’t been the best at being involved in them. I tend to forget but social media this year with the amount of wins democrats had reminded me again of the importance of making changes within your own state.
Because of that, I want to try and post more about people who are running for offices in different states.
That said, I wanted to provide some resources for people to get breakdowns if they need more information on how elections work.
Ballotpedia.org is a great resource that breaks everything American politics down for you.
You also want to check out your states local Democrat website. They will have a list of representatives and people you can contact to get involved.
Another great resource is https://activateamerica.vote which enables people to run in their local elections.
Activote.net is an app that gives people breakdowns of what’s going on in their own community.
