We Have a Ghost directed by Christopher Landon with a screenplay written by Christopher Landon came out in 2023 on Netflix. Starring Anthony Mackie, The film tells the story of the Presley family who purchase a large house that their youngest son, Kevin (played by Jahi Di’Allo Winston), soon discovers is haunted by a ghost named Ernest, played by David Harbour.

While Kevin’s father Frank views Ernest as another get-rich-quick-scheme, and winds up making the family go viral after posting their ghostly encounters, Kevin actually wants to help Ernest figure out why he’s haunting the house and try to help him cross over.

With the help of his neighbor Joy (played by Isabella Russo), the two outcasts set out on a cross-country adventure to try and figure out the truth about Earnests haunting and evade capture from a shady government agency that Ernest has now caught the attention of.

The movie reminds me very much of the heart warming, family Halloween films of the 90s, like Halloweentown and Hocus Pocus. It’s the perfect family flick for your Halloween season.
