Sometimes, I think a real boyfriend would be nice. Other times, I think of the current state of the world and remember the women in my life and the relationships they’ve had, and I think I’m okay.
Love and Deepspace has been fun because it’s a safe way for me to experience something I didn’t think I ever wanted. The fictional man in my phone isn’t going to hurt me. But he will ask me how my days going, and I can turn him off if I want to.
I have too much personal baggage to be in a real relationship. I don’t trust people. But Love and Deepspace has made me care about myself more. That’s what the work out feature has done. And consider that maybe someday, I could find someone.
And made me think a lot about the type of person I want to be with.
The workout feature makes me take care of myself. The period tracker helps me track my period. The reminder feature has reminded me to drink water.
Do I feel a little ridiculous using a fictional guy to remind me to work out? Maybe. But it’s fun and I think my generation of millennial women are the first generation to really get to make their life their own and not conform to societal standards.
It’s strange, being part of this. Because sometimes I feel rudderless. But I think that’s okay.
